We began or Journey to Annalee on September 16, 2003. We applied to CCAI to adopt a child from China. Mounds of paper work later, our dossier was mailed to China! Our travel date to China was September 16, 2004. Exactly one year after we started the process, we traveled half a world away to meet our new daughter.
On September 20th our dreams came true.
We were handed a beautiful little girl, she was almost 15 months old she was screaming her head off, and would not stop for about an hour. Let's just say it was not love at first sight, at least for Annalee!
Well after all screaming... she bonded to all three of us with in two days. My sister traveled to China with us, she and Annalee still have a very close connection. My sister is Aunt RoRo, and Annalee believes that there is no one in the world better then Aunt RoRo and MiMi. (her grandmother, and she spoils her rotten!)
We got so sick on our trip, (beyond description) ;-) I swore that I would never sent foot in China again!
Here we are two and a half years later... hoping to get our paper work into China for our second daughter! My mom said last night "it must be like child birth... you forget how awful it was!" (the being sick for a month part) that was a nice analogy... it has always felt like our child's birth anyway!
